Birds in Our Reserve * Aves de Nuestra Reserva

We would like to share some highlights from our recent collaboration. We extend our sincere gratitude to the BIRDS.MX team and the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico for their dedication to conducting vital bird studies at the Biological Reserve Cerro Hermoso.

As BIRDS.MX shared: “The Oaxaca coast is a region of great bird diversity, where resident and migratory species converge, favored by its warm climate and the abundance of habitats rich in vegetation. Throughout 2024 and the first months of 2025, the BIRDS.MX team carried out continuous bird banding work in the Biological Reserve Cerro Hermoso. During this process, morphometric measurements were recorded and data on the body condition and parasitic load of the birds was collected, with the aim of measures that contribute to the conservation of birds in this ecosystem of great biological wealth.”

Nos gustaría compartir algunas fotos de nuestra reciente colaboración. Agradecemos sinceramente al equipo de BIRDS.MX y a la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México por su dedicación a la realización de estudios vitales sobre aves en la Reserva Biológica Cerro Hermoso.

Como compartió BIRDS.MX: “La costa de Oaxaca es una región con gran diversidad de aves, donde convergen especies residentes y migratorias, favorecidas por su clima cálido y la abundancia de hábitats ricos en vegetación. A lo largo de 2024 y los primeros meses de 2025, el equipo de BIRDS.MX realizó un trabajo continuo de anillamiento de aves en la Reserva Biológica Cerro Hermoso. Durante este proceso, se registraron mediciones morfométricas y se recopilaron datos sobre la condición corporal y la carga parasitaria de las aves, con el objetivo de implementar medidas que contribuyan a la conservación de las aves en este ecosistema de gran riqueza biológica”.
